Pre Deployment Product Security Testing

Most companies install the products they purchase/download without getting them checked for security risks. Any software, before it reaches the end user/customer, passes through a number of distribution channels. Can the product vendor guarantee a pristine product by the time it reaches the end user/client?

Of course, measures are in place to protect from such tampering but attackers have evolved a workaround for almost every protection mechanism. In such a case, is the product that you are about to install in your organization really secured?

The increasing complexity of modern computer systems has also contributed to the increase in computer security threats. Implication of a product security compromise includes:

  • Unauthorized access to confidential information and files.
  • Sensitive data may be corrupted due to malicious content (Spy ware, Virus, Worms, Trojans)
  • Possibilities of peer to peer file sharing through the malicious code.
  • Time bombs may crash the applications after a certain time leading to huge loss of information.
  • Worms may rapidly spread into your network and cause your network to crash before you observe the change.
  • Malicious code of this kind can propagate very fast and cause severe network disruption and data loss even before it can be identified.

Our Solution

At COE Security it is our constant effort to provide solutions for threats that plague a software product. Therefore, according to our proposed solution, every product, before being deployed or installed or downloaded on the enterprise's network has to undergo a security assessment exercise. Only upon acquiring a security clearance, should the product be deployed and put into use.

This service is offered in two phases:

Phase I: A security clearance has to be obatined for any product before download or installation in the enterprise's internal network.

Phase II: A security assessment of all the products already installed in the enterprise.

Benefits

  • Identification of anomalies in the product.

  • Improve internal network performance and availability.

  • Increase end-users productivity and satisfaction.

  • Reduces the risks involved in loss of data and Confidential information.

  • Reduce cost of damage due to attacks of malicious content (Bots, malware, spyware Greyware, pharming, rootkits, and keyloggers).
